A Philippine delegation is to visit Kuwait by end-July to iron out the terms of labor contracts for Filipinos wishing to work there.
Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah said the delegation was initially slated to visit at the start of July, but the Philippine panel had “other commitments.”
Jarallah said this prompted the postponement of the visit to end-July.
He added both sides remain keen on drafting the contracts in a way that protects the rights of both the employee and employer.
Earlier, the Kuwaiti foreign ministry said the visit will be made by the beginning of July and that another delegation will simultaneously visit Kuwait to hold political talks.
