The Philippine Coast Guard aided the ailing crew of an Australia-bound China-flagged vessel off Albay province last Friday, Sept. 6.
On its Facebook page Sunday night, the Coast Guard said its Albay station and the PCG Bicol medical team conducted the medical evacuation for a crew of the M/V Guangzhou Fazhan.
M/V Guangzhou Fazhan was heading for Australia with 23 crew members onboard including the Master along the vicinity waters of Legaspi in Albay at the time (https://www.facebook.com/philcoastguardofficialpage/posts/371259743542686).
Investigation showed a member of the crew, Wang Jian, suffered a shoulder injury while performing routine ship maintenance.
Upon arrival, the team rendered first aid to the patient and transported him to Tanchuling Hospital in Legazpi City for proper evaluation and treatment.
