Filipinos living in Hokkaido in Japan availed of mobile consular services offered recently by the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo.
The embassy teamed up with the Philippine Consulate in Sapporo in conducting the two-day consular outreach mission in Sapporo City in Hokkaido last September 14 and 15.
Hokkaido is a prefecture located 1,111 km from Tokyo and is home to around 1,991 Filipinos, the embassy said (http://tokyo.philembassy.net/02events/philippine-embassy-serves-filipino-community-in-hokkaido/#nav-cat).
On the first day of the consular mission, the six-member consular outreach team processed 179 e-Passport applications and 18 notarial services.
During the second day, the team traveled to Urakawa town, some 174 km from Sapporo city, to process the passport application of a Filipino who was involved in an accident.
The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, Japan will conduct its next consular mission in Nagano on October 12 and 13; and in Okinawa on November 9 to 10.
