350 Filipinos in Balearic Islands get consular services

Some 350 Filipinos living in the Balearic Islands availed of consular services during a recent outreach mission of the Philippine Embassy in Madrid.

The embassy said the consular outreach services last Feb. 22 and 23 were held in the islands, which are 695.7 km away from Madrid.

Services included:
– passport processing
– dual citizenship application
– civil registry
– notarial services
– labor and welfare services
– assistance-to-nationals
– various consultations and services

Such services saved the Filipinos there of hundreds of Euros that they would have spent to travel to Madrid to avail of these services.

The Balearic Islands are an archipelago of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea with Palma de Mallorca as capital. Some 4,000 Filipinos are based there.

Meanwhile, the Gender and Development program focal person attended to senior citizens, pregnant women, children, persons with disabilities and other special cases through a courtesy lane provided during the outreach service.
